Registration is now open for the conference

 Tudor England and the Antwerp Book Trade: from Tyndale to Plantin

to take place in Antwerp (University of Antwerp and Museum Plantin-Moretus) from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 July 2025.

The conference is held at the occasion of the quincentenary of Tyndale’s first edition of the New Testament. Its general theme will be the history of the book trade between Tudor England and the Low Countries, with sessions on “English Bibles in 16th-century Antwerp” and “Low Countries Books for Tudor Readers”.

The programme includes numerous international speakers, a special display of “dangerous” books and documents, a city walk exploring Tyndale’s Antwerp, an excursion to the old university town of Leuven (Louvain), and musical performances.
